The Department of Marketing and Tourism Team includes: 5 independent researchers, 11 assistant professors (including 2 didactic teachers), 3 assistants, as well as doctoral students from the Interdisciplinary Doctoral Studies and the Doctoral School. The scientific activity of employees is characterized by a high degree of internationalization, especially regarding to publishing in major international scientific journals, as well as participation in scientific conferences and membership in the scientific associations, networks and organizations.

The main areas of scientific and research activities of the Department’s employees within the scope of Management and Quality Sciences, include:

• Marketing and branding of the city and Functional Urban Areas
• Managing inter-organizational relations, especially in the business-to-business area, and organizational trust
• Business management versus social and sustainable development issues
• Cooperation in the development of innovation in business and the public sphere
• Relationship marketing and trust in the consumer market (including the healthcare)
• Investment strategies for financing business activities (including Forex) and legal aspects of new technologies (including nanotechnology)
• Tourism management and tourism economics

In addition, the Department carries out scientific and research activities outside the area of Management and Quality Sciences and includes, inter alia, new technologies law, issues of national minorities, social, political and cultural life of the Polish-Lithuanian-Belarusian border.
