Project goals

The project aims to develop training materials for employees of various levels of local government to implement the European Green Deal. In addition, project activities will involve local authorities responsible for various environmental services related to noise or air pollution protection, waste disposal, education, and consumer protection or municipal planning.

The EGD4cities project aims to strengthen the involvement of local authorities and non-governmental organizations for sustainable development and green economy, among others, by:

  • increasing knowledge and developing competencies related to the functioning of the green economy;
  • supporting the leadership skills and creativity of organization leaders;
  • development of various forms of education;
  • professional development of leaders of organizations and local authorities.

The project’s specific objective is to provide access to current knowledge and improve competencies in the field of sustainable development through a high-quality education process in the framework of continuous learning of adults.

Project results

Intellectual Outputs 1: Assessment Methodology for valorizing / creating European Green Deal local policies

Intellectual Outputs 2: Development of the e-learning course material  for 11 modules:

  • Increasing the EU’s climate ambition for 2030 and 2050
  • Supplying clean, affordable and secure energy
  • Mobilizing industry for a clean and circular economy
  • Building and renovating in an energy and resource efficient way
  • Accelerating the shift to sustainable and smart mobility
  • From ‘Farm to Fork’: designing a fair, healthy and environmentally-friendly food system
  • Preserving and restoring ecosystems and biodiversity
  • A zero pollution ambition for a toxic-free environment
  • Pursuing green finance and investment and ensuring a just transition
  • Greening national budgets and sending the right price signals
  • Mobilising research and fostering innovation
