09-10-2026

Researchers from the Faculty of Engineering Management at Bialystok University of Technology have added another achievement to the Faculty’s publishing record. Routledge has published the monograph “Lean Six Sigma and the Theory of Constraints: Tools, Case Studies, and Synergies”, written by Wiesław Urban, DSc, PhD, Eng., Associate Professor at Bialystok University of Technology, and Patrycja Rogowska, PhD, Eng.

Routledge is classified at Level II of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education’s list of publishers, which means the monograph is awarded the maximum of 300 points under the national evaluation system.

The book explores how two leading improvement methodologies, Lean Six Sigma and the Theory of Constraints, can work together. Drawing on practical tools and case studies, the authors demonstrate that combining the two approaches can significantly improve organizational performance, especially in continuous process improvement and operational metrics. The monograph pairs a solid theoretical foundation with extensive empirical evidence and builds on many years of research conducted at the Faculty.

The authors believe the book offers considerable practical value and hope it will inspire both researchers and business practitioners.
