Visit of prof. Peter J. Gorder from the University of Colorado (Colorado Springs)/Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering

On 20 May 2024, Professor Peter J. Gorder from the University of Colorado (Colorado Springs)/Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering visited the Faculty of Engineering Management (WIZ). Invited by the Vice-Rector Assoc. Prof. Dorota Krawczyk, DSc, PhD, Eng, he came with an offer of collaboration. His proposal is particularly aimed at scientific circles that could work in international teams to solve engineering problems for enterprises. The meeting was attended by representatives of WIZ: Vice-Dean for Development and Cooperation, Urszula Kobylińska, PhD, scientific circle advisors along with students: Marta Jarocka, PhD, Łukasz Dragun, PhD and Joanna Szydło, PhD, a specialist in intercultural communication. At the initiative of Łukasz Dragun, PhD, representatives from IKEA Industry Poland sp. z o.o., Lubawa branch – Karolina Lewandowska, Technical Training Manager, and Wojciech Malinowski, Shift Manager, were invited to the meeting.

Professor Peter J. Gorder has extensive experience in implementing projects in collaboration with industry as part of the so-called Senior Design Programs, which are company-sponsored programs focused on team-based problem-solving by interdisciplinary teams. We hope for further collaboration with Polish-American teams.
